It’s the latest new B-word everyone’s talking about.
People are burning out faster than you can say ‘I need a break’.
Burnout feels and looks different for everybody.
For me, it looks like frustration in self-talk:
“I should be able to do this easily”,
“Why can’t I just find the energy and motivation?”
Despite increased awareness about burnout, 67% of employees report working while exhausted, and 72% don’t take adequate breaks during their workday, leading to cognitive overload.
Workplace wellbeing strategy isn’t quite keeping up.
The gap between your wellbeing policy and your people’s experience is costing you in a subtle way:
In turnover, disengagement, and the exit of your best people.
A quick check-in:
Before you read another engagement survey or book another team lunch, raise your hand if:
✔a high performer on your team resigned or disengaged in the last 90 days (and you weren’t entirely surprised)
✔ your organisation has a wellbeing policy you’d hesitate to call effective
✔ burnout been raised in an exit interview without a concrete plan following it
If your hand’s still up, we made this toolkit for you.

With over a decade’s experience in inclusive wellbeing, facilitation and public engagement, Ruhee Meghani is one of Australia’s leading voices on inclusion and equity. She holds a strong academic background and extensive experience in psychology, Yoga philosophy and business management – a unique blend that led her to create Australia’s first inclusive facilitation and wellbeing agency.
Ruhee from Allied Collective delivered a wellbeing workshop that really landed with our Nike Pacific marketing team. She tailored content to truly reflect our culture, striking balance between theory, open discussion, and hands-on activities—as well as fun. Ruhee created space for vulnerability while guiding us toward clear, actionable commitments, and the session offered a strong mix of team-based reflection and individual tools we could take forward. It was energising, relevant, and left us with momentum to keep building on. @alliedcollective
The Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) engaged Allied Collective to design, develop and deliver a review into the operation and impact of a significant VMC engagement forum. From May to August 2025, Allied Collective approached this project with care, curiosity and professionalism. Their human-centred approach to stakeholder engagement was comprehensive, accessible and inclusive, ensuring that the voices of over 100 participants were heard and respected. The analysis and recommendations provided by Allied Collective will help shape future VMC engagement activities. The VMC is grateful for the commitment, skill and thoughtfulness of Allied Collective.
Ruhee guided our company to better understand the unique role that human resources professionals play in enabling a firm to be anti-racist. Her extensive understanding of inclusive talent management processes and how to engage others in conversations about race are inspiring. The Allied Collective program takes what are difficult conversations and topics and facilitates personal and group reflections on them in a safe environment. This knowledge program inspires change at both individual and organizational levels.
Again, thank you for your time and contributions towards helping The Hatchery put our purpose of ‘connecting people with knowledge to inspire change’ into action. I hope you enjoyed the experience, and I look forward to working with you again in the future.
Ruhee was so professional and clearly so experienced. From the initial questions that she asked us about our values, the feel of the event and the attendees, we knew that [1] she knew her craft well and [2] that she truly cared about making this night spectacular for all.
